add phenylacetonitrile, chlorobutane and tetrabutyl ammonium bromide to sodium hydroxide solution, stir the reaction, the reaction exotherms to raise the temperature to 88 ℃ and start reflux, then cool down to 65 ℃, and continue the reaction for 4-5h. After the reaction, add water to stand and stratify, separate the organic phase, distill under reduced pressure, and collect the fraction at 70 ℃(0.267kPa) to obtain α-n-butylbenzene acetonitrile.
